ArtsLink 26-27 Concert Series Opener: Simple Gifts

ArtsLink’s 26-27 Concert Series kicks off with a truly unique evening featuring award-winning folk duo Simple Gifts! Two women, twelve instruments, and one incredible night of music.
Drawing on an impressive variety of ethnic folk styles, Simple Gifts plays everything from lively Irish jigs and American reels to hard-driving Klezmer frailachs, haunting Gypsy melodies, Balkan dance rhythms, and lush Scandinavian twin fiddling. Combining tradition with innovation, Linda Littleton and Karen Hirshon switch effortlessly among fiddle, mandolin, banjo, guitar, guitjo, recorders, bowed psaltery, hammered dulcimer, baritone fiddle, and percussion — creating some of the finest arrangements in folk music today.
